It happens a lot and I do it myself. I look at the past decisions I’ve made and I judge it based on what I know now and that’s really just another form of self-abuse. If I look back at these past decisions, past business decisions, past personal choices, and I look at it based on what I’ve learned since then and learned from those mistakes, it’s really critically unfair and it doesn’t give me the opportunity to change. All that leaves me is looking back and beating myself up. Think about it this way: you can’t write the new chapter while you’re constantly rereading the old one.
