Mindset Mondays with DTK – Ep #116 — The journey makes the outcome all the richer.In 7th grade, my aunt gave me a framed Gollum quote (from The Hobbit) that remained on my wall through graduation: "It is precious to me though I buy it with great pain." It got me through some gnarly emotional times in high school (and who didn't have those?). I learned that the battle to get through those years made the victory sweeter. On the flip side, the twisted side of that lesson was a lingering belief that only when something was hard was it worthwhile. Unwinding that belief took a great deal of inner work and intentional reprogramming. Now I have a much better reframe on my effortful journey:“I love the person I’ve become, because I fought hard to become her.”— Kaci DianeI feel blessed that I can honestly say that I love the person I've become. Don't get me wrong, there are things about me that I'd love to be different and I work at those. And, warts and all, the person I've become is the result of fighting hard to be myself. And that makes me love me even more.And I feel like this is a personal declaration, of sorts. And I hope to whatever higher power moves you that you can say the same thing.What would it be like for you to make the same declaration?
