Yes, I have a sense of humor. I can find humor in just about every situation.* And though that has been a constant in my life, like Achilles, my superpower had a weak point. I was known to take myself WAY too seriously. Everything had to be perfect and I took critique and criticism personally … And it was exhausting. Thankfully, a brilliant quip by Ralph Waldo Emerson helped me find a lot of grace:
“Don’t be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment.”
An experiment? HELL YES! Through that lens, I get to see the learning in every moment of falling short, every dead end, every failure. I get to extract value from every loss, from every miss, from every face-plant. I get to be human!
