What brought up that brilliant question?"The Stoics had a very grounded perspective on death. Considering the state of medicine at the time (300 BCE – c175 CE), that actually served them well. It was also very liberating. Epictetus wrote: 'you are a little soul carrying around a corpse.' Choosing to focus on our soul and our deeds rather than our appearance or possessions grants us remarkable freedom and clarity. Seneca the Younger took that even further by focusing down to 'how' one lives:“Life is like a play: it’s not the length, but the excellence of the acting that matters.”You are the cast.The plot is yours to create.The script is written by you as you go.It is you who gives the story life.
