Mindset Mondays with DTK – Ep #091 — I have to get this damned book done!!

Yes, I said “have to.” I know that I preach about the ills of external motivations … have to, need to, ought to, must. I know! And I said it on purpose!
I know that I want to get this book out. And that I get to tell this story. I know that I’m blessed to be able to spend time on this kind of project. AND … I have to get this out ’cause it’s consuming all my attention!

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”

Nope. No surprise that Maya Angelou’s quote came up this week. I was so consumed with completing this book that I completely missed getting the Mindset Mondays with DTK emails and broadcast set up … until NOW! A mere 9 hours before broadcast (instead of the Wednesday before)!

The agony of keep one’s story contained is existential and unbearable. Once you know you have a story to be told, let it out! It can not be contained. Once you start the telling (and the publisher gives you a deadline), get it out! It will consume you until it’s delivered.

How much longer will you keep your story in?
