Episode #110 — Comfort makes for magic!

The chance to be myself. Though that’s what I longed for, I held back so much of who I was, who I am, for SOOO many years. I was afraid of being judged, or misunderstood, or mischaracterized, or rejected. All it took to open the floodgates was a little sense of belonging.

“Watch carefully the magic that occurs
when you give a person just enough
comfort to be themselves.”
― Atticus

It started with an ice hockey team. Then the soccer team. They a youth group. A Spanish class. A TAG Program. Theater. Each of these, along with many other experiences with different communities, gave me more and more comfort being myself. And I have magical memories from each.

And then the relationship where I felt truly seen … even under the mask I wore. That one made such a difference in my life I married her! And that’s when the magic truly began. Not because of her. But rather because of who I allowed myself to be by having that grace, that acceptance, that love.

There is so much magic available when we lean into being ourselves.

Where do you draw that comfort?
