Mindset Mondays with DTK – Ep #143 — “What Got You There Won’t Get You Here”

I’ll be offering apologies to Marshall Goldsmith for riffing with his famous book title … And here’s what’s important: It’s time we all start redefining success is an inside game. It’s time to stop looking outward for the rewards and accolades and validation as a replacement for the lack of their internal counterpart.

“Success is liking yourself,
liking what you do,
and liking how you do it.”

— Dr. Maya Angelou

It’s not that I don’t like the external validation. You all know me. I LOVE it! AND … without the intrinsic satisfaction, the internal rewards, the internal validation, that which comes externally is merely soothing a lack.

Dr Angelou’s definition of success is also an invitation for a sober assessment of how you actually feel about yourself, about what you are doing, about how you are doing it. It’s an invitation to an alignment check. It’s an invitation to either celebration or recalibration.

Wow … I can’t wait to hear what answers come up for me as I do this episode LIVE!

What is that invitation bringing up for you?
