Mindset Mondays with DTK – Ep #145 — It’s hard to hear one’s heart at speed.

These last couple of days have been filled with details and machinations. Screenings for COVID, jockeying for space in the refrigerators, cleaning ovens, last minute work projects, and tons of food prep. And this is just for five people?!?

Even after a few days of fabulous conversations about gratitude and being present to the gifts of every moment, I find myself caught up in the swirl of the day and, once again, in human doing mode.

“You must learn to be still in the midst of activity and to be vibrantly alive in repose.”
— Indira Gandhi

And that’s the issue … we’re designed to be human beings, not human doings. And I have yet to master the skill of hearing my heart when I am overcalibrated to doing. I’m taking this powerful reminder to be intentional… to find the stillness even while doing and to feel the vibrancy deep in the being.

Where do you spend more of your time … being or doing?
