Mindset Mondays with DTK – Ep #101 — Doing your work is it’s own reward.

Yes, you’re going to be unappreciated. You’ll be challenged and sabotaged. You’ll encounter epic failures. Your expectations will be unmet. And you will lose.

Given that, how will you choose to carry on? How will you take pride in yourself and your work?

“You are only entitled to the action, never to its fruits.” — Bhagavad-gita

The question itself begs a redefinition of success. All-too-often folk tie their sense of accomplishment and well-being to the fruits of their labor (or, more realistically, to the accolades they hope to receive for those efforts). We open ourselves up to limitless satisfaction when our success is attached to our efforts alone rather than the rewards.

Stoic? Zen? Who cares. Do your work. Do it well. And reap the inherent rewards. Anything else is a bonus!
